Chasing The Rainbow: Fall Trout Fishing Tips

catching rainbow trout

If you’re a serious angler then you know that trout fishing is a year-round outdoor activity. The north Georgia and western North Carolina mountains have no shortage of pristine trout streams to give this cold-natured fish the kind of environment they thrive in. Though the Georgia DNR mostly stocks area creeks, streams and rivers from March through July (though a few are stocked through the winter), many area trout waters have a significant native population of rainbow trout, brown trout and in some streams brook trout as well.

Where to find the trout in the fall

As the warm, humid air of summer gives way to the effects of autumn, many fish begin to display different characteristics and habits and the rainbow trout is no exception.
